Praxis: Prayer and Fasting

Orthodoxy. This is a word you might be familiar with. You might have heard of "orthodox beliefs" or an "unorthodox way of doing things." Put simply, this word means right beliefs. There is another word that is less common, but just as important: orthopraxy. This word means the right application of those right beliefs. 

Praxis is a weekend designed to form our hearts around the practices that coincide with right beliefs. We're taking a weekend to turn our attention to prayer and fasting and how these practices connect to the mission of God in the world today. We'll be fasting together starting at sundown on Friday night. You are free to fast from anything God lays on your heart, large or small. We'll spend Saturday learning about a lifestyle of listening to God in prayer and sharing the Good news of Jesus in response to that prayer. We'll end the…
